i-DOS: As Easy as It Sounds

The way i-DOS machines work is simple and has many advantages. The machine is loaded and started as usual. The fully automatic washing machine then recognises the load quantity and doses the exact amount of detergent, depending on the programme and settings. This saves up to 38 % detergent and up to 10 litres of water per washing cycle. This is because the right amount of detergent prevents increased foaming, saving additional rinses and therefore water. What’s more, thanks to i-DOS, you no longer need your own detergent, which you don’t necessarily have with you when travelling or on short stays. A win-win situation.

The only time detergent is not added is for delicates, silk or the wool programme. In these programmes, you can simply add your own detergent directly into the drum.

No Detergent Available?

The detergent is regularly topped up by the property management, i.e. your facility manager, the reception, the building management, the cleaning staff, etc.
If the detergent is empty – which you can recognise by the indicator for the dosing container flashing – please contact the property management.

What Makes Our Detergent Special

Our detergent is a fragrance-free, sensitive detergent. It consists of purely vegetable surfactants, without petrochemical ingredients, without fragrances, colourants and complexing agents, without preservatives and also without enzymes and GMO. It is 100 % biodegradable.

It is suitable for coloured and white textiles made from cotton, linen, hemp and fabric blends and can be used at 30-95 °C.

During the selection of the detergent, great importance was placed on good compatibility (also for people with allergies). The detergent used therefore contains no fragrances or colourants.

The machine automatically dispenses the optimal amount of detergent from the storage tank for all selectable wash programmes. If you prefer to use your own detergent, please select the “Delicates/Silk” (5) or “Wool” (6) programmes, as no detergent is automatically dispensed in these settings.

Questions about the detergent

Due to the many negative aspects of fabric softeners, WeWash does not support their use.
While fabric softener makes laundry soft and fragrant, it comes with numerous disadvantages – for the environment, clothing, health, and appliances.

- Wastewater pollution – many ingredients are difficult to break down.
- CO₂ emissions – production and transport consume additional energy.
- Packaging waste – usually plastic bottles, creating unnecessary waste.
👕 Clothing
- Residues in fibres – coated fabrics become less breathable.
- Reduced absorbency – towels, functional, and sportswear lose their capacity to absorb.
- Shortened lifespan – fibres wear out faster due to the coating.
- Harmful to elastic fibres – elastic bands in socks, underwear, or sportswear lose their stretch.
- Not suitable for all materials – microfiber, wool, or functional clothing may be damaged.

- Skin irritations – fragrances and preservatives can trigger allergies or irritate sensitive skin.
⚙️ Appliances
- Residues in the washing machine – deposits in the detergent drawer and hoses promote mould and odours.
- Problems in the dryer – residues can clog lint filters and heat exchangers, causing damage.
- Increased maintenance – more frequent cleaning of washing machines and dryers is necessary.
- Loss of energy efficiency – clogged components increase electricity and water consumption.
Application range of the automatically dosed detergent:
Suitable for coloured and white laundry made of cotton, linen, hemp, synthetics, and blended fabrics, for wash cycles up to 95 °C.
Please note that materials such as wool and silk should only be washed using the special programmes available on the machine (“Wool”, “Delicates/Silk”), which are particularly gentle. In these programmes, no detergent is dispensed automatically, as these fabric types require a specialised detergent.
Therefore, please dose your own suitable detergent directly into the drum when using the “Delicates/Silk” (5) or “Wool” (6) programmes.
